Winnie The Pooh Day, and I hear you ask, what has this got to do with mental health?
Each one of the characters in Winnie The Pooh would be classed as having a mental health condition.
- Winnie the Pooh would be classified as having ‘Impulsivity’ with ‘Obsessive Fixations’ especially around Honey
- Piglet would be classed as having ‘Generalized Anxiety Disorder’ as he is always worrying
- Owl who is the most intelligent suffers from ‘Dyslexia’
- Tigger who of course would be classed as having ‘Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder’.
I bring this to my blog as when ever I see the animations or read the stories of their adventures I see everyone accepts and looks after each other for who they are.
I feel we can all take lessons from these stories and become more accepting of others and understand others problems and how the simplest of actions can help, we do not have to rescue people, we can just take a moment to ask how they are and perhaps spend some time with them, it does not have to before long, maybe just for a cup of tea or meet someone for a walk and perhaps throw a pooh stick if you find a stream. All simple and not expensive things to do that can mean more than anyone can imagine.
